Four Columns Inn Room Policies

Deposit and Booking Policy

To confirm and secure any reservation, the Four Columns Inn requires a 100% deposit. A minimum of two nights is required for all bookings. For any off-season single-night reservation, we recommend you reach out to us by phone 802-365-7713 to make arrangements.

Room rates are based on double occupancy and include a breakfast each morning.

Additional persons in a room require a 60$ per person/per night charge. This is only possible in certain rooms. There is no charge for children 5 years and younger.

Room rates are subject to Vermont State tax.

Rates are subject to change without notice.

Upon making your reservation, whether online through our website or by phone, we highly recommend booking a dinner at our restaurant, Andrea’s Table. We cannot guarantee a table will be available the day you check-in.

If you have further questions or require additional information, kindly call us at 802-365-7713.

Extra People

Rates are for double occupancy. A charge of 60$ per person per night will be added for each person in a room over two people. Children above the age of five (5) count the same as adults. Note that only a few rooms can accommodate more than two guests. Please notify us in advance if extra guests.

The Four Columns Inn is a quiet place, however we do accept a small number of well-behaved children. If you would like to bring your children, please advise us at the time of reservation to discuss bedding options because most rooms accommodate only two adults. We would be happy to help you find a room that accommodate your needs. Note that extra person charges apply to children above the age of five (5) and adults alike.

Prevailing Lodging Tax

All reservations and meal add-ons are subject to the State of Vermont’s prevailing Meals and Rentals Tax requirements.

Cancelation Policy

Because of our small size, cancelations affect us significantly. A last-minute cancelation gives us little chance of re-booking the canceled room, thus our Inn has the following cancelation policy.

  • All canceled reservations are subject to a 40$ processing fee.
  • All refunds are made to the credit card placed on file when booking. No exceptions.
  • We offer a 75% refund if the reservation is canceled prior to sixty (60) days before arrival.
  • We offer a 50% refund if the reservation is canceled thirty (30) to sixty (60) days before arrival.
  • Should it be necessary to cancel your reservation within thirty (30) days of arrival, you will be responsible for the entire cost of your stay as originally booked.
  • There are no refunds for 'no-shows', late arrivals or early departures.

Small Group Cancelation Policy

If you are affiliated with a group/family booking three (3) or more rooms, the following cancelation policy applies. If you cancel up to ninety (90) or more days prior to your reservation date, there is no penalty. Once within the 90-day period, the credit card on file will be charged for non-refundable prepayment for the full amount of the scheduled stay, including the tax. No exceptions. This group cancelation policy applies whether or not reservations are held on a single credit card or multiple cards.

While weddings, groups and family reunions are welcome, the Four Columns Inn reserves the right to decline reservations associated with groups or events as they may require special contracts and deposits.

No-Show Policy

In an event of no-show, the total cost of the scheduled stay will be billed to the guest's credit card on file.

Pet Policy

Two of our rooms, Buttercup and Dandelion, are available as dog friendly.

Canines are welcome at a one-time charge per stay of 60$, per pet, with a maximum of one (1) pet (up to 50 pounds) per room. Doggie treats, a water bowl and a doggie bed will be added to the room.

The Four Columns Inn must be notified of the presence of a pet upon making a reservation.

Pets must be registered at the time of check-in. Guests with pets must acknowledge and sign our complete pet policy when checking in.

Dogs are not allowed to be left alone in the room all day; they need to be looked after. They can, however, be in the room while guests are at breakfast or dinner. However, for the safety of the Inn’s staff, the room will not be serviced by housekeeping while the animal is in the room.

A 200$ charge plus any lost revenue will be added to the guest’s bill if there is any indication of damage in the room from an animal, or if any additional cleaning is required.

Guests must use the provided waste bags to clean up after their pets when walking on the Four Columns Inn’s grounds.

Smoking Policy

The Four Columns Inn is a fully non-smoking facility. There is no smoking allowed inside the building. Smoking is allowed outside at designated areas only. Ash trays are available for your use outside. Please smoke away from the house, doorways, or open windows, and please pick up any remnants. We reserve the right to charge the credit card on file a 300$ fee to cover the cost of deep cleaning and/or replacing upholstered furniture, window treatments, rugs and bedding if it is determined that a guest has violated the Inn’s policy and smoked in any location inside the Inn. If evidence of smoking is found in the guest’s room, cleaning charges of 300$ will be billed to the credit card on file. No exceptions.
