Best INN in New England!
Just wanted to tell you all that my fiancé and I enjoyed our stay at the inn this past weekend immensely. The rooms, service, food, and overall friendliness make your place the best in Vermont. We are already planning our next visit and look forward to making Four Columns Inn our home away from home

Wonderful Surprise
We went to The Four Columns because we loved The Old Newfane Inn, now, for several decades no longer in business. The town of Newfane is lovely and we had memories to revisit. What an incredible surprise to find that the current Four Columns, as reimagined, is a wonderful restorative experience in welcoming hospitality in an environment that has both beauty and substance. The mature gardens were exquisitely designed and continue to delight and give pleasure. The ponds, brook, fire pit, pool and outdoor gym all contribute to the whole with subtlety and grace. The original artwork interspersed throughout give pause and communicate care in every aspect of decision making. The menu was delicious and beautifully conceived and executed with local ingredients. This is not a place of flashy nor for showy neauveau consumerism. It is for those who value subtle quality, nature service and enduring hospitality.

Loved everything about this Inn.
“Fantastic service – everyone was so warm and friendly. Rooms are a nice size and clean. The food was delicious at their restaurant. Great location – close to Stratton and Mt. Snow. The Inn provided us with snowshoes which was a lot of fun. We will definitely be returning!”

Spent two nights at the Four Columns.
“The town of Newfane is quaint and the Four Columns is a beautiful little inn. Our room was immaculate and comfortable with a fireplace (gas, but nice and heated the room quickly). I recommend getting a room in the “four columns” building. Breakfast is included and the omelet was particularly delicious. We also had dinner at the restaurant where the chef cooks using local ingredients from around the area. The steak was perfect.”

The Four Columns Inn and restaurant were spectacular on every level.
“Grounds, service, rooms were all top notch. The restaurant is a Farm to Table superstar. Great place to escape and unwind. Highly recommended!!!!”

“It was just what we were looking for in our room, private fireplace and tub, such amazing bedding! The art in the inn was excellently chosen and a pleasure to view and admire! The entire inn is decorated so nicely, we had an amazing dinner in the restaurant w/ excellent service! Breakfast (included) was excellent and the choices were perfect for anyone! Everyone we encountered was at the top of their game and the inn was clean, well kept and just such a nice experience. We would highly recommend the inn to anyone- any season!”

My boyfriend and I stayed for the night and had a wonderful time.
“The staff was great, the girl who checked us in was super friendly and walked us over to our room giving recommendations on things to do in the area. The servers for both dinner and breakfast were very attentive and pleasant. Our room was beautiful and modern with a gas fireplace in front of the bed and a large tub in the bathroom, with local soaps which I loved. We will definitely be back!”

Found what I was looking for
“We had a wonderful stay here. The room was awesome. We enjoyed it so much we didn’t want to leave. The staff in both the restaurant and the tavern was very friendly and accommodating, even making us a meal to accommodate food allergies. We were very grateful. The grounds, including the river behind the Inn were inviting and very relaxing. We wished we were there in warmer weather so we could have enjoyed the pool. We will definitely be back.”

Excellent service, great getaway!
“We were very happy with room #10. High ceilings, king-size bed, gas fireplace which you could see from the bedroom OR bathroom, an awesome tub, double sinks, and a large standing shower. The room was very clean and bright. Breakfast was delicious with several local options. We would definitely stay here again!”

Perfect winter getaway
“Our kids got us this getaway and it was perfect. Our room was spacious, with a large bathroom, the entry to which was situated off to the side of the room so you could leave a light on and not bother you while you tried to sleep. The gas fireplace was appreciated. We ate both nights in the restaurant and enjoyed the food immensely. The staff was quite helpful with suggestions for local activities – went for a nice walk alongside the West River a bit past the dam in Townsend. On the way to Brattleboro, the Grafton Village Cheese Shop is not to be missed and the art museum in Brattleboro was worth the stop. Will go again.”
