Deposit and Booking Policy

To confirm and secure any reservation, the Four Columns Inn requires a 100% deposit. A minimum of two nights is required for all bookings.

For any off-season single-night reservation, we recommend you reach out to us by phone 802-365-7713 to make arrangements.

Room rates are based on double occupancy and include a complimentary Continental breakfast.

Additional persons in a room require a $60 per person/per night charge. This is only possible in certain rooms.

There are no rooms with separate beds. The Inn only has rooms with a king- or queen-size bed.

There is no charge for children 5 years and younger.

Room rates are subject to Vermont State tax.

Rates are subject to change without notice.

Upon making your reservation, whether online through our website or by phone, we highly recommend booking a dinner at our restaurant, Andrea’s Table. We cannot guarantee a table will be available the day you check-in. The restaurant is open to Inn Guests from Tuesdays to Saturdays beginning dinner service at 5:30 PM.

If you have further questions or require additional information, kindly call us at 802-365-7713.

Extra People

Rates are for double occupancy. A charge of $60 per person/per night will be added for each person in a room over two people.

Children above the age of five (5) count the same as adults.

Note that only a few rooms can accommodate more than two guests.

Please notify us in advance if extra guests are expected in the room. Past 5 PM, our housekeeping team is not available, and we will not be able to fix the extra bed for your guest. We must be informed ahead of time.

Additional guest bed in the room is subject to availability, and must be arranged before guest’s arrival, and paid in full prior to arrival.

Children

The Four Columns Inn is a quiet place. However we do accept a small number of well-behaved children. If you would like to bring your children, please advise us at the time of reservation to discuss bedding options because most rooms accommodate only two adults in a single bed (queen or king).

We would be happy to help you find a room that accommodate your needs.

Note that extra person charges apply to children above the age of five (5) and adults alike.

For babies and toddlers, we recommend guests bring their own portable pack n play as we do not have one.

Prevailing Lodging Tax

Pet Policy

Two of our rooms, Buttercup and Dandelion, are available as dog and cat friendly.

Canines and cats are welcome at a one-time charge per stay of $60 per pet, with a maximum of one (1) pet (up to 50 pounds) per room.

Doggie treats, a water bowl and a doggie bed will be added to the room.

For cats, a litter box with litter and cat-approved treats will be provided. Guests will be responsible for emptying the litter before checking out.

The Four Columns Inn must be notified of the presence of a pet upon making a reservation.

Pets must be registered at the time of check-in. Guests with pets must acknowledge and sign our complete pet policy when checking in.

Before traveling, Guests must ensure that their pet is up-to-date on all vaccines and shots and not traveling with any communicable illnesses such as kennel cough.

Dogs are not allowed to be left alone in the room all day; they need to be looked after. They can, however, be in the room while guests are at breakfast or dinner. However, for the safety of the Inn’s staff, the room will not be serviced by housekeeping while a dog is in the room. Cats must be in their carrier during housekeeping service.

If there is any indication of damage in the room from an animal, or if any additional cleaning is required, a $200 charge plus any lost revenue will be added to the guest’s bill. Additionally, this same $200 charge applies to guests who show up at the Inn with a pet, and who have booked a room which is not pet-friendly: the guest will be required to pay the fee to access the reserved room. In simple terms, pets are not allowed in rooms other than the designated ones: Buttercup and Dandelion.

Guests must use waste bags to clean up after their pets when walking on the Four Columns Inn’s grounds.

*Regardless of whether a hotel is pet-friendly, under II & III of the ADA, service dogs MUST be allowed to accompany their humans while visiting any property in the United States. Service dogs are those that are trained to perform tasks for people living with disabilities. Service dogs are working dogs and are not pets. A common misperception is that therapy or emotional support dogs are covered under the ADA. Unfortunately, they are not. Those traveling with emotional support or therapy dogs should seek lodging with pet friendly accommodations and their stay will be subject to the pet-friendly policy enforced by the individual property.

Breakfast

A complimentary Continental breakfast is served each morning in the Tavern for overnight guests.

Breakfast hours are subject to change, but in general run from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

On the occasional morning when the Chef is not available for breakfast service, Inn Guests would receive a coupon for a hot breakfast to redeem at the Newfane Store.

It is possible to have breakfast served in your room for an additional fee. Kindly call us at 802-365-7713 to notify us in advance.

Cancellation Policy

Because of our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last-minute cancellation gives us little chance of re-booking the cancelled room, thus our Inn has the following cancellation policy.

  1. All cancelled reservations are subject to a $40 processing fee.
  2. All refunds are made to the credit card placed on file when booking. No exceptions.
  3. We offer a 75% refund if the reservation is cancelled prior to sixty (60) days before arrival.
  4. We offer a 50% refund if the reservation is cancelled thirty (30) to sixty (60) days before arrival.
  5. Should it be necessary to cancel your reservation within thirty (30) days of arrival, you will be responsible for the entire cost of your stay as originally booked.
  6. There are no refunds for ‘no-shows’, late arrivals or early departures.

Small Group Cancellation Policy

If you are affiliated with a group/family booking three (3) or more rooms, the following cancellation policy applies.

If you cancel up to ninety (90) or more days prior to your reservation date, there is no penalty.

Once within the 90-day period, the credit card on file will be charged for non-refundable prepayment for the full amount of the scheduled stay, including the tax. No exceptions.

This group cancellation policy applies whether or not reservations are held on a single credit card or multiple cards.

Large Groups including Weddings

Please call the inn at 802-365-7713.

While weddings, groups and family reunions are welcome, the Four Columns Inn reserves the right to decline reservations associated with groups or events as they may require special contracts and deposits.

In an event of no-show, the total cost of the scheduled stay will be billed to the guest’s credit card on file.

If evidence of smoking is found in the guest’s room, cleaning charges of $300 will be billed to the credit card on file. No exceptions.

FOUR COLUMNS INN – GIFT CERTIFICATES ISSUED BEFORE 3/1/2022

The previous business was an LLC or corporation, but the buyer did not buy the LLC or corporation – the buyer bought basically everything (including the name) the business owned and hired some or all of the staff – however it is a brand new and different legal entity. In that case, the business does not have to honor the gift certificate – the same way that if you had an agreement with a friend that he could use your car as long as he bought case for it, but you then sold the car to a new owner, the new owner does not have to honor that arrangement.

Gift certificates issued before 3/1/2022 by previous management and owners will thus not be honored by current management. Previous management may have mentioned the GCs were applicable for massages, tavern drinks or food, meals at the restaurant, or a night at the Inn. Unfortunately, these certificates are no longer valid.

If you are in possession of a Four Columns Inn gift certificate, please contact us by phone 802-365-7713 or email comevisit@fourcolumnsvt.com a copy of the document along with your full name, phone number and the best time to reach you.
